Small habits for a clearer future

Smultron turns the research on dementia risk into a daily plan you'll actually follow — for how you move, eat, sleep, connect, and challenge your brain.

Modelled relative risk of cognitive decline from age 45 to 65 — the window where modifiable habits matter most.

Relative risk of cognitive decline from age 45 to 65: baseline versus with Smultron habitsTwo modelled curves start together at a relative risk index of 18 out of 100 at age 45. Risk if midlife habits stay unchanged — the comparison point.

~45%

of dementia risk has been linked by researchers to modifiable factors — activity level, diet, hearing, blood pressure, sleep, and social connection. Smultron turns that research into a plan for one person: you.

Figure reflects research on modifiable dementia risk factors. Individual risk varies; Smultron is not a medical treatment.

The six levers

One plan, six parts of your life.

Your plan pulls from all six — weighted toward whichever matter most for your risk profile.

  • Move

Structured movement calibrated to your fitness level — walking targets, strength work, and balance.

  • Nourish

A brain-forward eating pattern (Mediterranean/MIND-style), adapted to your kitchen, not a meal-kit box.

  • Sleep

Sleep is when the brain clears waste linked to decline. We help protect deep sleep, not just hours in bed.

  • Connect

Isolation is one of the strongest risk factors of all. Your plan includes real social targets.

  • Challenge

Novel, effortful cognitive work — new skills and real problem-solving, not repetitive brain-training games.

  • Manage risk

Guided tracking of blood pressure, hearing, and metabolic markers, explained in plain language.

How it works

Four steps, then it runs quietly in the background.

  1. 01

    Assessment

A few minutes on your history, habits, and any family history of dementia.

  2. 02

    Your plan

A weekly plan across the six pillars, ranked by what will move your risk the most.

  3. 03

    Daily check-ins

A short daily nudge from Aiden, your AI companion, that adjusts based on what worked.

  4. 04

    Track your horizon

Your dashboard shows the trend and how it's moving your long-term outlook.

Inside the app

A weekly view, not a scoreboard.

Smultron looks at your week, not your worst day. Miss a walk and nothing turns red — the plan simply reshuffles around the days you have. No streak-shaming, no guilt notifications, no pretending a perfect month is what protects your brain. Consistency over years is what counts, so that's the only thing we measure you against.

Grounded, not gimmicky

We build plans from the research, not an app store trend.

  • Evidence-informed

Every recommendation traces back to published research on modifiable dementia risk. When the evidence is mixed, we say so instead of picking the most exciting version.

  • Clinically aware

Our program is reviewed by a clinical advisory panel of physicians and researchers. They check what we claim, how we phrase it, and when we should tell you to see a doctor.

  • Honest about limits

Lifestyle change shifts the odds — it does not guarantee an outcome, and we never promise one. Smultron is here to make the good years more likely, not to sell certainty.

Smultron is a lifestyle and habit-coaching app powered by an AI companion. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Small habits, said out loud.

  • M

    Marta L., 58

I'd tried every health app and quit by week three. This one asks for one small thing a day, and somehow that's the thing that stuck.

  • J

    Johan B., 51

My mother has dementia, so the worry was always there. Having a plan instead of a fear has changed how I go to bed at night.

  • A

    Anneli S., 63

The weekly call with my sister started as a checkbox in the app. Now it's the part of the week I look forward to most.

Questions

Straight answers.

  • No program can guarantee prevention, and we won't claim otherwise. What the research does show is that a large share of dementia risk is linked to modifiable factors — activity, diet, sleep, hearing, blood pressure and social connection. Working on those consistently can meaningfully reduce your risk. Smultron helps you do that, day after day.

  • No. Most people join proactively — they feel fine and want to keep it that way. Smultron is built for prevention, not treatment. If something you log suggests you should speak to a clinician, the app will flag it and tell you plainly.

  • No. Aiden is an AI companion trained to support habit-building and keep your weekly plan realistic. Aiden does not diagnose conditions or provide medical advice, and will always recommend seeing a doctor for anything medical.
